AURA’s Team of Qualified & Dedicated Caregivers (Therapists, Special Educators & Auxiliary staff) are given ‘Hands On’ training and impart the specialized Services, adopted from BOBATH Concept, under the Supervision of equally dedicated Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a trained and qualified Director Therapy. AURA Board Members offer to volunteer their Time & Effort to maintain the smooth running of AURA Centre and the Organization at large.

President

Munizeh Ali is a committed social worker and education advocate with over three decades of service. She began her journey in 1986, volunteering with children with special needs at Sister Gertrude’s. For the past 22 years, she has been actively supporting and developing a government girls' school in Chanesar Goth. Munizeh also serves as the President of AURA (Al-Umeed Rehabilitation Association), working to uplift individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities through inclusive rehabilitation initiatives.

Vice President

Dr. Habiba Hasan is a renowned pediatrician and human rights activist with over four decades of service in healthcare and social welfare. A founder member of several pioneering organizations including AURA, ACELP, the Speech and Hearing Association of Pakistan, and Panah Shelter Home she has dedicated her life to supporting children with disabilities, women in crisis, and underserved communities. She also established an Early Learning Center for children in jail and played a key role in the Legal Aid Society.

General Secretary

Abida Memon is a seasoned public servant and social welfare advocate with over 40 years of experience in government and community service. She has held key positions in departments such as Women Development, Health, Environment, and Minorities Affairs. Currently serving as General Secretary of AURA, she continues to champion the rights of individuals with disabilities. Her career reflects a strong commitment to inclusive development and administrative excellence.

Mrs. Shenila Ali Sibtain serves as the Joint Secretary of Al Umeed Rehabilitation Association (AURA), playing a pivotal role in strengthening the organization’s mission to support and empower individuals with disabilities. With a strong commitment to social development, community welfare, and inclusive growth, she actively contributes to policy development, institutional governance, and strategic initiatives within AURA

Mr. Naved Memon serves as the Treasurer of the Al Umeed Rehabilitation Association (AURA), where he plays a key role in overseeing financial planning, transparency, and resource management to ensure effective support for the organization’s rehabilitation programs. With a strong foundation in finance and administration, he contributes his expertise to strengthen AURA’s mission of empowering individuals with disabilities. His dedication to organizational governance and community service supports sustainable growth and impact for the children and families served by AURA.

Mrs. Naila Jamall is a visionary educator and passionate advocate for inclusive education. As the Founder and Head of The Learning Tree, an IB and Cambridge-certified school in Karachi, she has created a nurturing environment that embraces diversity and empowers all learners. Director

Dr. Amtul Abbas is a highly qualified Doctor of Physical Therapy and holds an MA in English. As the Director of AURA’s rehabilitation and inclusive education section, she leads specialized programs for children with cerebral palsy, combining her clinical expertise with deep compassion to ensure every child receives personalized support for meaningful progress and inclusion.

COO

Saifur Rahman Siddiqui is amongst the founding members & is currently the COO of Al Umeed. By profession he's a journalist & is affected with Cerebral Palsy. In a way he's a true success story within himself. Saif served The Jang Group & is currently with Pakistan Television. He has his own YouTube channel @newswatchwithsaif8376. He is a wonderful person to work with. In many ways, he is a perfectionist. Always trying to raise the standard. He is also working as media advisor and content strategist, and has an interest in big data. He is an avid reader and regular writer on arts literature and sports - cricket being his especially!!!

Rehab Incharge

Mrs. Owaisia Perveen serves as the Teacher In-Charge of the Rehabilitation Section at AURA, where she plays a vital role in supporting the holistic development of children with physical and intellectual disabilities. With a specialized degree in Special Education from the University of Karachi, she brings both expertise and compassion to creating inclusive, individualized learning and rehabilitation plans. Her dedication ensures that every child receives the support they need to achieve their fullest potential.

Inclusive Incharge

Miss Saima Shafiq leads AURA’s Inclusive Education Section, diligently ensuring that each child especially those with cerebral palsy is supported within a nurturing and empowering learning environment. Her compassionate leadership fosters inclusive practices that celebrate every child's potential.
