Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy refers to a group of neurological disorders that permanently affects body movement and muscle coordination. This occurs due to damage to the developing brain before, during or after birth and up to two years of life. All people with cerebral palsy are challenged with posture and movement, with some having impairments with vision, hearing, speech and intellect. The commonest causes in our country are lack of oxygen at birth, jaundice in the newborn period, brain infection, and head injury.
